Mr. Réginald Thériault is a Deputy Director with NSERC’s Research Partnerships Programs. He oversees the Strategic Projects and Networks Grants programs in the area of Environmental Sciences and Technologies, as w ell as a team responsible for the delivery of the Collaborative Research and Development Grants and Industrial Research Chairs Programs for the environmental, agricultural and fisheries sectors. He is also the NSERC lead for special partnership initiatives with Environment Canada, International Science and Technology Partnerships Canada, and the International Development Research Centre.  He is experienced with NSERC’s Idea to Innovation Program in support of pre-commercialization research, the Collaborative Health Research Projects grants program and with Scholarships and Fellowships Programs.

Prior to joining NSERC in 2001, he spent the first 15 years of his career as an isotope geochemist with the geochronology labs of the Geological Survey of Canada, where he participated in more than 20 collaborative research projects in the fields of environmental geochemistry,  mineral resources, plate tectonics research. He has published over 40 government research reports, conference abstracts and peer reviewed journal articles. He holds and M.Sc. in Geology from the University of Ottawa.
